The sporty 2025 BMW Z4 is a soft-top two-seater roadster that immediately brings visions of heading down the wide open road with the wind in your hair. We’re going to dive in and look at a few of the many reasons why you have to have this jaunty sports car.

2025 BMW Z4

Two Trim Options

The Z4 gives you a choice between the Z4 sDrive30i and the Z4 M40i. The sDrive30i is powered by a 2.0L BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cyl engine that provides 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission that provides the smooth, slick gear changes you want. The 2.0L achieves 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

The M40i features a larger 3.0L BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cyl engine, which delivers 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with either an eight-speed automatic transmission or, if you choose the Handsschalter Package, a six-speed manual transmission, larger wheels and tires, stiffer anti-roll bars, and adaptive suspension. It can achieve 0 to 60mph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph.

Driver Assistance Package

This available package makes driving safer than ever with a range of safety systems that protect you on the road. They use radar sensors and cameras to identify potential danger and warn you so you can avoid accidents. Active Blind Spot Detection, for example, uses radar sensors embedded in the rear bumper that detect any vehicle that enters a blind spot. When something is detected, it provides visual and audible warnings to alert you.

Highway Assistant is another system that gives you hands-free driving at up to 85 mph on a vast network of roads in the continental US. It includes Active Lane Change, which allows you to confirm suggested lane changes by looking at the relevant side mirror. Additional safety features include Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Mitigation.

Plenty of Technology

All your infotainment needs are available through the large 10.3″ full-color touchscreen. It’s controlled by BMW’s iDrive system, which lets you access real-time navigation, choose your music or other digital content, or get information from the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are installed, allowing you to seamlessly connect your smartphone via Bluetooth. The free downloadable My BMW app, for Android and iPhones, allows you to check many of your BMW’s systems on the go, including its remaining fuel, tire pressure, and more. Advanced Comfort Access technology allows you to lock or unlock your doors without taking your keys out.
